ENHANCING YOUR INVESTMENT
Whippendell Marine provides support to our customers both during and after a project including Technical Documentation, Spares Provisioning, Maintenance Planning, Test Equipment and Training Programmes.

We provide comprehensive post design support, both for our own equipment and that of other manufacturers, including on-going technical support by telephone and e-mail and have service engineers available to attend vessels worldwide to carry out repairs, surveys and modifications.

Technical Support

We are able to provide a wide range of technical documentation to meet the customers requirements, in a variety of formats. All equipment is supplied with drawings as standard, including encapsulated schematics within the panel. Packages can range from a simple Operating and Maintenance Manual to a full technical package including ILS data and NATO codification data.

Spares Provisioning

Our engineers will produce lists of recommended spares, both for Base Support and Carried On-Board. These will be based on the customer’s advised operating profile and the requirements for preventative maintenance. We can provide complete spares packages, or ad hoc spare parts as required. Many items are held in stock for rapid despatch and are also NATO codified for simpler demand ordering.

Maintenance Planning

Maintenance Planning is essential to ensure maximum equipment availability. Whippendell Marine solutions are designed to require minimum maintenance to meet the modern demands for decreased manning levels. Whippendell Marine can undertake Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) studies to develop optimum maintenance programmes and provide detailed preventative maintenance instructions.

Training

Training is essential to ensure the correct operation, maintenance and fault diagnosis of equipment, especially when a vessel can be deployed for many months. Whippendell Marine can provide a range of training options to meet the customer’s requirements including classroom based training at it’s Watford site, on-board training with the equipment and computer based training. We have extensive experience of designing and delivering training courses to the UK Royal Navy for its Aviation Ground Power Systems and other equipment.

Test and Repair

At our facility we can test and repair our products, as well as other equipment. We offer a comprehensive service with a range of electrical test equipment and supplies, specifically designed for naval equipment, including Aviation Grade (Mil-Std 704F) power sources.

Servicing

Our highly experienced engineers can provide services and support both in the UK and worldwide.  Our engineers regularly attend ships to complete setting to work and commissioning of our systems and equipment and then provide support during Harbour Acceptance Testing (HAT) and Sea Acceptance Trials (SAT). We can undertake a range of tasks, including service, fault finding, repair and modification. We have undertaken extensive surveys of existing systems, where no documentation is available, and then produced a new technical documentation package and undertaken systems upgrades. For Naval Aviation Ground Power Systems, we can provide functional and load testing, with our own aviation load banks and specialist test equipment. We have experience of a wide variety of both rotating and static power conversion and TRUs.
