Our range of starters for the submarine environment control a wide variety of plant, including oil and water pumps, fans, compressors, AHUs and heaters. Equipment supplied over 35 years ago continues to provide reliable, low maintenance service in the UK fleet.
Whippendell Marine motor starters come in both standard and custom designs. For the majority of plant, a standard DOL motor starter is sufficient, however we design custom starters for more complex plant such as lubrication systems, throttle control and two speed motors. We also offer the ability to interface with an IPMS for greater control flexibility.

From an initial specification, Whippendell Marine is able to design custom solutions to meet the exact requirements of the starter.
Starter types can include Direct On Line, Reversing, Auto Transformer and Star Delta arrangements, as well as Soft Start and Variable Speed.
Starters can have multiple incoming supplies (i.e. Normal / Alternative / Emergency), selected automatically or by hand.
Control can include Local, Remote and via a PMS system, with interlocks to plant sensors such as limit switches and pressure sensors.
Reduced specification versions of our starters are also available for general marine applications.
