Whippendell Marine is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to supply the Helicopter Starting and Servicing Equipment System for the first batch of five Type 31 Frigates, by Babcock International Group.

The award of this contract confirms Whippendell Marine as the key supplier of these systems to the UK Royal Navy surface fleet and support vessels. It will provide a system built on common technology across the majority of the fleet, including the Type 45 Destroyer, Type 23 Frigate, Tide Class Fleet Tanker and Type 26 Global Combat Ship. This will drive efficiencies through reduced spares holding and reduced operator and maintainer training.
