Whippendell Marine Awarded the In-Service Support for AGSS & ACES (Ground Power) Contract by DE&S – Communications & Situational Awareness Team

We are pleased to announce that we are under contract for the in-service support of all embarked aviation ground power systems across the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary fleet, including options for support of Type 26 and Type 31 when they come into service.

AGSS is the Aircraft Ground Service System applicable to all surface ships except Queen Elizabeth Class and ACES is the Aircraft Connected Electrical Supplies for the Queen Elizabeth Class.

The contract includes technical support to deployed ships, spares, repairs and post design services, as well as obsolescence management, input to safety and environmental cases and technical advice regarding the equipment.

Commodore Steve McCarthy, DE&S Director Ships Support, said: “As the Royal Navy’s Carrier Strike Group continues on its latest deployment, it is crucial that we ensure the best possible availability and reliability for their embarked aircraft.

“That’s why contracts like this, with Whippendell Marine, are so important in helping us support UK military operations around the globe.”
