Covid-19 Statement

November 2020

Following the Governments announcement of a further national lockdown Whippendell Marine can confirm that as a key defence supplier the Company will continue to operate as it has throughout the pandemic.

The Company has implemented effective remote working capability and had already reduced the numbers of non-essential staff on site since mid-September. The production facilities will continue to operate, together with the necessary staff to support the operation.

The Covid-19 Risk Assessments will continue to be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure all necessary precautions and controls have been considered and implemented.

In addition the following enhanced precautions will be implemented :

  • Whilst the wearing of masks when moving around the site or when proper social distancing is not possible has been required, there is an exemption for those who are unable to wear them, for whatever reason. With effect from Wednesday 4th November, those members of staff who can not wear a mask will be issued with face visors. Wearing of a mask or visor will be compulsory.
  • On site meetings and visits will be further restricted to those which are deemed essential for critical programmes and must be approved by a Director.
